Curbside: Boring History 3
Five of the twenty founders stayed at the school to run the school,
casino, whorehouse, church and the five acres of farmland. Over
the years two acres of farmland were turned into a football field
and track and field championships. The whorehouse was the first
to leave the school as academics are hard to accomplish with such
entertainments so close at hand. And the girls school complaining
about it continuously. The church was also a sanctuary as it was
part of the school but still closed off on each of the three stories
by several doors. The top floor was mostly a sanctuary for poor
students to live and work the fields instead of paying for tuition
and room and board. The main floor was the church, a place to
pray and give thanks, while the basement was for storage and a
library. Due to the library’s positioning and the positioning of
several glass prisms light indirect sunlight shone into several of the
otherwise darker shadows of the library during the day. The
casino was turned into many other types of entertainment like
poetry night, debate night, band night, etc. A very different
window to the outside world that none would otherwise experience
until much later in life.
The remaining 15 founders went into politics, business, and illegal
activities. Of course these are all basically the same thing if you
really think about it.
One of the founders was name Bill Wayne and he continued to farm.
Lou Dawson another founder took on the docks with two Natives who worked illegally building the school. Natives were the only ones legally allowed to work in the river. Not that many would want to with it’s fast current and murky depths.
Dean Rankin started a medical practice in town, James Horton became mayor, John Pratchett became The Don, Henry Barker took on the job of journalist, and I gotta git to work, damn!

Developing a timeline just to sort of come up with a very rough framework for the story.
